C1- First Teaching Training in Joniškis, Lithuania
On November 15-19, 2021 the first Staff Training Week of the international project Erasmus + KA201 “Robots for STEM” started at Joniškis Matas Slančiauskas progymnasium (Lithuania).
The guests from Portugal, Italy, Turkiye and Croatia met together in the progymnasium. The participants built, programmed and tested Arduino robots, discussed the potential for their application in the educational process. For their visit, they each participated in a day of methodical consultation and discussion under the title “Organization of a hybrid lesson”. In this, IT teacher R. Barradas (Portugal) shared his experience of conducting remote, hybrid lessons. During the training, we listened to several remote reports about the achievements of Portuguese teachers in implementing robotics in the educational process.
During the course of the project, partners visiting Lithuania became acquainted with Matas Slančiauskas progymnasium, visited Joniškis district municipality, Joniškis history and basketball museums, the attractions of Žagarė town, as well as seeing the directorate of the regional park. Partners were also introduced to Vilnius, the capital of Lithuania.
The week went by in ‘the blink of an eye’. It was filled with unforgettable impression, emotional riches, and many unconventional activities. English, programming and robot-building skills have grown substantially.
The project will continue and further teacher trainings await us in Croatia during January 2022, followed by student-team programmable robot competitions in both Turkiye and Italy.
